END-TO-END BRANDED MERCHANDISE LOGISTICS & WAREHOUSING

FROM FACTORY TO FINAL DESTINATION - WE HANDLE THE LOGISTICS

Branded merchandise is only as effective as the system behind it. Designing the right product is one challenge - getting it produced, warehoused, tracked, and delivered to the right people at the right time, at scale, is another.

Novelli's logistics team manages the full supply chain for branded merchandise programmes across New Zealand, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other international markets. We handle freight forwarding, customs clearance, quality control, warehousing, inventory management, web store fulfilment, picking, and last-mile delivery - so your team can focus on the campaign rather than the cartons.

We've managed logistics programmes for Firth, McDonald's, Fonterra, Makita, Optimum Nutrition, Radcliffe Electrical, and many others - from single-territory runs to multi-country rollouts with hundreds of delivery locations. Whether you're running a gift with purchase campaign, a corporate gear programme, a sponsorship activation, or a fundraising campaign, the logistics capability is built in.

Get in touch and tell us about your programme - we'll tell you how we'd handle it.

Firth branded merchandise web store - developed and managed by Novelli for inventory visibility and order tracking

FIRTH (NZ) - DELIVERING EFFICIENCY THROUGH MERCHANDISE LOGISTICS AND WEB STORE MANAGEMENT

Novelli has been instrumental in supporting Firth with their logistics needs for branded merchandise.

By streamlining the process of sourcing, warehousing, and distribution, we ensure that Firth’s promotional items are delivered efficiently and on time.

Prior to this, Firth was encountering inefficiencies in the management of their branded merchandise, prompting them to seek a solution. Novelli offered a solution that was certain to deliver significant improvements: the webstore. This platform provided Firth with enhanced visibility over stock management, order tracking, and effectively eliminated the complexities associated with dispatching merchandise to regional teams.

Firth now uses the webstore for all branded merchandise supplied by Novelli, including apparel and promotional giveaways. Additionally, the platform serves as a means for distributing their own product catalogues.

“Firth has had a long-standing relationship with Novelli.  As our branded merchandise supplier, they provide excellent service and are always responsive and willing to help.  Not only do they design and produce our apparel but also provide a webstore which is remarkably easy to use.  I really appreciate the visibility it gives me on stock levels, helping me stay effortlessly on top of our merch inventory”.

ETHICAL SOURCING AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY - OUR COMMITMENT

Our goods come from all over the world, but it is important to us that this isn’t at the expense of people or the environment.

We recognise that our responsibility is to

- protect workers’ welfare

- uphold environmental standards in our supply chain

This is where our ethical sourcing practices come into play. We have a strict code of ethics that dictates we only source and manufacture goods with suppliers that have passed stringent audits related to social compliance, environment impact, product safety, supply chain security and product quality. We are also conscious of watching our carbon footprint when moving goods around.

It can be complicated, but you don’t have to worry about it, that’s our job!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT BRANDED MERCHANDISE LOGISTICS

Everything you need to know about how Novelli manages the delivery side of your merchandise programme - and if your question isn't here, get in touch, and we'll talk it through.

What does Novelli's logistics service actually cover? We manage the full journey from factory to final destination - freight forwarding, customs clearance, quality control, and delivery to single or multiple locations, domestically or internationally. If your merchandise programme needs to land in more than one place, on time, and in good condition, that's the problem we solve. It's built into every campaign we run, not sold as a separate add-on.
Which countries does Novelli manage logistics for? We manage freight and delivery across New Zealand, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and other international markets, sourcing from factories primarily across Asia. Whether your campaign is running in one country or a dozen simultaneously, we manage the customs requirements, documentation, and delivery networks specific to each region so you don't have to.
How does Novelli handle multi-territory or multi-location delivery? This is where our logistics capability earns its keep. Campaigns that need to land simultaneously across multiple countries - or across hundreds of stores within one country - involve different customs requirements, freight timelines, and delivery networks for each destination. We coordinate all of it centrally, so you get one point of contact managing a programme that might otherwise involve juggling several freight forwarders and customs brokers. Our Firth case study and Glanbia case study are good examples of this in practice.
What quality control happens before merchandise ships? Every product goes through quality assurance before it leaves the factory, checked against the brief and our own quality standards. This matters more, not less, when a shipment is heading to multiple countries or hundreds of locations - a fault caught before freight is a minor fix; the same fault caught after distribution is a much bigger problem. We build quality control into the process rather than treating it as a final checkpoint.
How does Novelli manage customs clearance for international shipments? We handle customs documentation, compliance, and clearance as part of the freight process, drawing on our experience moving merchandise into New Zealand, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Different markets have different requirements around labelling, safety compliance, and import documentation, and we manage those requirements on your behalf so shipments move without unexpected delays at the border.
How far in advance do you need to know about delivery requirements? As early as possible, ideally at the same time you brief us on the product itself. Freight and customs timelines vary significantly by destination and shipping method, and factoring delivery into the plan from day one - rather than as an afterthought once production is underway - gives us the most flexibility to hit your deadline, particularly for time-sensitive campaigns like event or sponsorship activations.
Does Novelli offer warehousing or web store fulfilment if a programme needs it? Yes - for clients whose merchandise programme benefits from ongoing storage, inventory visibility, or a self-service ordering platform, we can provide that too, as we have for Firth. But it's not something every campaign needs. Most of our merchandise programmes are freight-managed direct deliveries with no warehousing involved at all - we'll recommend whichever approach suits your campaign rather than defaulting to the more complex option.
How does Novelli manage ethical and sustainable sourcing across its supply chain? We only work with suppliers who have passed audits covering social compliance, environmental impact, product safety, supply chain security, and product quality. We're also mindful of the carbon footprint involved in moving goods internationally and factor that into how we plan freight. It's a standing part of how we operate, not something applied selectively to individual campaigns.
Does logistics apply to every type of merchandise campaign, or only certain ones? Every one. Whether you're running a gift with purchase campaign, a corporate gear rollout, a sponsorship activation, or a fundraising programme, the product still has to get from factory to the people who'll use it - so logistics is part of every brief we take on, scaled to what the campaign actually needs.
How do I get logistics included in my next merchandise project? You don't need to ask separately - it's part of how we scope every campaign from the outset. When you brief us on a product, tell us where it needs to end up and by when, and we'll build the delivery plan in alongside the design and production timeline. Get in touch and we'll talk through what your programme needs.
