Design a way for Bunnings Warehouse customers to still enjoy a Bunnings birthday without being able to celebrate the event in-store

Novelli created the Bunnings Warehouse Kids Party Pack
THE OPPORTUNITY
When Covid-19 hit the shores of Australia, the in-store kids birthdays parties had to stop due to restrictions. These parties were a sort-after ritual for many families - the stores would all host these events on a weekly basis. The question was..."What now?" The team at Bunnings called Novelli with the predicament - how can they keep the iconic instore Bunnings Birthday Party alive during a highly unusual period of Covid-related restrictions.
INSIGHTS & DATA
Birthdays kept coming (Covid could not stop time!) and parents love for the Bunnings brand was there to leverage. In our research, the Bunnings Instore Birthday Parties emerged as a key part of consumers engagement. Some consumers had repeated this experience multiple years running, and regardless of government restriction, expected this to continue.
OUR SOLUTION
Novelli pulled our creative team together and through brainstorming sessions we arrived at the “Bunnings Kids Party Pack” so that you could take the party home.
The product ticks all the boxes being designed by parents for Bunnings lovers. The products meet Bunnings sustainability objectives as the products are all paper based and 100% recyclable.
The pack contained everything needed to host an amazing party including; invitations and envelopes, paper plates and straws, name cards, dinner plates, side plates, party hats, wooden utensils, cupcake wraps, napkins, 3m bunting, 'It's My Birthday' badge and the box even turns into a cake stand!
OUTCOMES
The release of the Party Pack gained global media coverage. News outlets, not to mention social media, went as crazy as the parents who excitedly bought these packs. At the time, this was one of Bunnings most engaged social media releases.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Bunnings Warehouse wanted to build brand love and increase retail sales in the Christmas period. They approached Novelli about creating some branded merch for a Christmas campaign.

OUR SOLUTION
Novelli created a replica of the Big Green Shed - right down to the inclusion of the iconic sausage sizzle outside the store.
Bunnings introduced the model to market in November, leveraging off the retail momentum prior to the Christmas season.
OUTCOMES
The NovaBrix Building Block Warehouses were a massive success, with the toys selling out not even a week after hitting the shelves.
To build on this success, Bunnings then produced some other store-related NovaBrix products which have proven to be just as popular. The range now includes the following 6 products -
